Schrade Cut Co Walden, NY single blade bone handled switchblade knife. The knife was designated the model/pattern #1553 3/4 and is the smaller of the 2 large frame single blade switchblades made by Schrade. This model was often referred to as the Scout and the larger one was called the Hunter. The knife measures 4.25 inches closed and just under 7.5 inches open and it has steel liners and bolsters & nickel silver button and safety. The blade is stamped SCHRADE CUT CO WALDEN NY on the front and has 3 patent dates on the rear with the last one being June 6, 1916. The blade is 99% full and shiny with light patina and a little spotting. The jigged bone scales (handles) are in excellent condition with no cracks or chips and have nice color. The knife works great with the blade tip seating deep and centered, strong snap and tight lockup!
